Welcome to my travel blog as I experience life in Japan as a University of Technology, Sydney (UTS) In-Country Study (ICS) student.
I am currently in Gifu and I’ll be studying at their national university for about ten months. Gifu-shi is a fairly large city located in the south-central portion of Gifu prefecture, Japan. In other words, imagine a banana (because that is what I think Japan looks like) and Gifu is right in the middle.
There are about 400,000 or so people living here and about 6,000 of them go to Gifu University. This year, one of them is my fellow UTS student, Kylie and I.
Anyway, I writing this blog so that future ICS students can get a rough idea of what to expect when they get here as well as to learn from my past experiences and mistakes. Most of all, I hope that my blog will entertain the readers with my antics of trying to cope with living in a country very different to Australia.
